Down with Pigs Bib

A good bib can make the difference between your favourite baby looking like a pig, or a dainty little bird. :) This bib has a lot of advantages. It’s reversible, so you can flip it for the next feeding if the first side gets messy. It’s double-thick, so it’s extra-absorbent. It fits on over baby’s head, so it’s hard for wee ones to take it off themselves. And of course, it has geek cred.
Sizing
About 8.5” x 13” laid flat
Materials needed
Yarn: Worsted weight, approximately 68 yards of each colour - model used Bernat "Handicrafter Cotton", 100% cotton, 80yds/50g, colours 00001 White and 13530 Country Red
Needles: 4.5mm circular needle, at least long enough to hold 108 stitches
2 stitch holders
Spare length of yarn about 8” long
(optional) Safety pin
Gauge
31 sts (15.5 per side) and 22.5 rows to 4” in double knitting stocking stitch on 4.5mm needles
Exact gauge is not necessary since bibs don’t require precise fitting; however, if your gauge is a bit off, it’s better to knit larger than smaller, in order to ensure that the opening for the head isn’t too snug
