A mindless openwork pattern, a sea-silk yarn, and a fun, no-weaving-in-ends fringe make a great vacation project.  Work the scarf long enough to wrap around your neck several times.  It’s so light and silky that you’ll feel only the slightest caress.

The scarf does curl gently, giving you a wide-ish tube of mesh. That’s perfectly fine and just how I indended.

If you knit this in wool and you’re not seeing the mesh pattern clearly, then blocking is necessary. For any non-wool, including Sea Silk or any cotton, blocking is absolutely not necessary!
