Text Connections Template
Text Connections Worksheet | ELA | Secondary | Print + Digital | ML-Friendly
A clean, structured worksheet that walks students through all three types of text connections using evidence directly from the text.
Text to Text asks students to connect a quote to another book, movie, TV show, or comic and explain the similarities and differences. Text to Self asks them to connect a quote to their own life or personal experience. Text to World asks them to connect a quote to a current event, historical event, or something happening in society locally or globally.
For each connection, students choose their own quote, write the page number, and respond in 3 to 5 sentences using built-in guiding questions. Works with any book, article, or short story.
A digital Google Doc link is included directly on the PDF so students can complete it on their device without any extra setup on your end.
What's included: 1-page PDF (8.5 x 11, print ready) + Google Doc link for digital use
Covers: text to text, text to self, text to world, textual evidence, extended response writing
Works printed or digitally. No prep needed.
