Adolphe Danhauser | Fleurette | for Clarinet Trio

Adolphe-Léopold Danhauser (1835–1896) was a French composer, music theorist, and educator, best known for his influential work in music pedagogy. He taught at the Paris Conservatoire and authored the widely used Théorie de la musique, a foundational text for generations of French music students. His compositions often reflected his educational mission - accessible, melodically engaging, and rich in character.

Among his lighter compositions is Fleurette (“Little Flower”), originally conceived as a secular chorus. This charming piece has been reimagined as a clarinet trio, showcasing Danhauser’s graceful melodic style and elegant harmonies. The arrangement infuses the work with a delicate French sophistication, making it a delightful addition to recital and concert programs
