Welcome to the Bronze Arts Award in Creative Writing

A national qualification for young writers who love to imagine, write, and share their ideas.

What is an Art Award?

This 10-month course is for young authors who want to develop their storytelling skills and build a writing portfolio while earning their Bronze Arts Award. From poetry and character development to short stories and performance, this course guides you step by step with exciting and accessible writing activities.

Your space to be creative

The Bronze Arts Award is a Level 1 qualification on the RQF, accredited by Trinity College London and supported by Arts Council England. Art Awards required 60 hours of work. Students complete four parts:

  • Part A: Take part in writing-based arts activities
  • Part B: Experience and review a writing or performance event
  • Part C: Research a writer or author who inspires you
  • Part D: Pass on your writing skills by teaching or presenting to someone else


How it works

  • This course is completed over 10 months.
  • Each assignment unlocks every 30 days after enrolment.
  • You must complete all 10 monthly assignments to be eligible for submission.
  • Uploads and reflections are submitted via a secure digital portfolio.
  • Access is set up within 48 hours of enrolment.
  • We are open Monday–Friday, 9:00–16:00 (UK time). Weekend requests are processed on Mondays.
