Jamestown and Plymouth Colonies
In Chapter One, we are going to study the Jamestown Colony of 1607 and the Plymouth Colony of 1620. This video book differs from what you are used to.
RC the History Buff will be our narrator, and we will hear the words of our heroes of history in each video.
Each story is less than 50 minutes to fit a classroom schedule. So, while full of facts, they are 50-minute histories, not complete histories.
Historians regard these two colonies as the foundational English settlements in North America, as they established the first permanent communities that influenced the future of the United States of America. Jamestown was the first permanent English settlement with an economic focus, while Plymouth, the second colony, was more focused on religious freedom.
