Human Out-Post in a Lunar Lava Tunnel. Project, Analysis and Objectives

This project stems from the requirement to place a self-sufficient human outpost on the Moon in consideration of the latest developments and progress made by studies in this sector and which will eventually lead to the actual colonization of other planets in the forthcoming 20 years.

I realized this project many years ago, exatly in the 2001, when I had the idea to place a human outpost in the interior of a lunar lava tunnel.

The localization and choice of the lunar outpost is of fundamental importance. The use of intact lava tunnels which are tubes generated by the solidification of underground basaltic lava flow, as outposts in extreme conditions, is one of the rare solutions have been studied and discussed at that time.
