Easter Bunny Art Project Mixed Media Newspaper Bunny Collage Easter Art Lesson
In this Easter Mixed Media Bunny Art Project, students create a bunny portrait using newspaper collage, drawing, wax crayon resist and watercolor painting. The finished spring artwork combines texture, color and pattern, and the bunnies look great displayed together as a class.
Students sketch the outline of their bunny, then collage newspaper clippings to form the head and ears. Next they draw the features with black marker and add spring flowers around the bunny. Finally they use wax resist and watercolor, letting the colors blend across the newspaper while the white crayon areas resist the paint for bright highlights. It suits elementary art classes, spring and Easter units, homeschool art and sub plans.
