It gives a comprehensive overview of musical development from 1200 AD to 1850 AD: the Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque and Classical periods. It includes timelines to show world events, and the development of art, architecture, literature, drama and music. Also included are activities and listening guides for selected composers from each musical period.
