What is Brave Steps?
A group programme for parents of primary-aged children (about 5 to 11) with mild to moderate, everyday worry. It uses general CBT ideas (understanding the worry cycle, responding differently as a parent, testing worried thoughts, and taking small brave steps) in five weekly sessions of about 75 minutes. Every session has a slide deck with scripted speaker notes, a parent handout and a home task. It is designed to be delivered by trained school staff such as a SENCo, ELSA or pastoral lead.
