Impulse Spending Budget Tracker | Colorful, Forgiving Budget Spreadsheet for ADHD Brains | Excel & Google Sheets Template
You've tried budgets before. Maybe you started strong, missed a few days, felt behind, and quit.
This one is built differently. The Impulse-Spending Budget Tracker is colorful, forgiving, and designed around how impulse buying really happens: a trigger (bored, tired, stressed, a sale) plus an easy "buy" button. It helps you see your patterns without shame.
MADE FOR
Anyone who wants a simpler way to see where money goes, especially people with ADHD or other brains that run on interest, novelty, and urgency.
WHAT'S INSIDE
1) SETUP: monthly income, fixed bills, a savings goal, a guilt-free impulse allowance (fun money), a waiting period you choose, and editable category budgets
2) DAILY LOG: add a purchase in about 15 seconds with dropdowns for category, planned or impulse, what triggered it, and how you feel about it (worth it, meh, regret), color coded
3) THE WAIT LIST: put things you want here first. The sheet shows Wait or Ready to decide, lets you mark Skipped or Bought, and totals the money you saved by skipping
4) ADHD TAX TRACKER: log late fees, forgotten subscriptions, duplicate purchases, missed returns, and other money leaks, with totals and a "biggest leak" highlight
5) DASHBOARD: traffic-light meters for every category, your impulse allowance status, your top spending trigger, a "how it felt" summary, and a chart. Pick any month to view
6) BOTH a blank template and a filled-in example file (the sample numbers are made up)
WHY IT'S DIFFERENT
- No streaks to break and no perfect-tracking required
- Visual cues (green, yellow, red) instead of walls of numbers
- Built-in fun-money allowance, so spending on something you enjoy isn't a failure
- Patterns, not blame: see which triggers lead to regret
HOW IT WORKS
Type in the yellow cells. Lavender cells calculate automatically. Takes about five minutes to set up and about 15 seconds per purchase.
WORKS WITH
Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets. Instant digital download; nothing is shipped.
