Guelder Rose Hat is a slightly slouchy hat is knit in the round from the brim up. Rich in texture, it incorporates tiny bobbles (not a traditional bobble), cables, twisted stitches and a bit of lace.

Guelder Rose Hat
has been inspired by one of the last harvested and most beautiful plants of the fall - the guelder rose. It is traditionally harvested after the first frost, when the berries are burning red and the frost has removed the bitterness and the mild toxicity from them. Having grown up with a guelder rose tree in our garden in Latvia, to me it associates not only with warming, sweet jams our family made, but also with the resilience, beauty and grace in the face of darker, dormant season to come.

The pattern includes written instructions as well as charts.
