Pokémon Syllable Division | Grade 3 Reading Practice
Use familiar Pokémon names to practice breaking longer words into readable parts. Children say each name, mark vowel and consonant letters, divide the syllables, and read the parts together.
Practice begins with Mudkip, Golem, and Onix and builds to longer names such as Mega Lucario and Gigantamax Pikachu. A short story brings practiced names into sentences.
Inside the 16-page PDF

How to use it
Use for adult-guided Grade 3 practice after teaching the relevant patterns. Children can hold a hand lightly under the chin to feel the spoken syllables, then mark and divide the written word. Teach unfamiliar pronunciations first, since invented names can include unexpected sounds. Cover unused rows, take a break after two words, or let an adult record spoken answers.
Includes nine student-use pages. Print on US Letter paper at actual size. Practice pages also work in black and white. This is a printable PDF, not an editable file or a complete Orton-Gillingham curriculum. No physical product will be shipped.
