Apple Tree CVC Word Family Dot Marker Activity 🍎


Practice early reading skills while filling an apple tree one letter at a time!

Each page features five CVC words from the same word family. Children read a word, find the letters on the apple tree in the correct order, and cover each one as they go. Picture cues are included to support word recognition and meaning.

The sheets can easily be laminated for reusable, hands-on play too!

More Ways to Play

Dot markers: Dot each letter as you find it and watch the tree fill with colorful apples.

Magnetic chips + wand: Laminate the page, cover each letter with a magnetic chip, then sweep them up with a magnetic wand when you're finished.

Playdough: Roll small playdough “apples” and press one over each letter as it's found.

Pompoms or manipulatives: Use pompoms, buttons, mini erasers, counters, or other small pieces to cover the letters.

Dry-erase markers: Laminate the pages and circle or color each letter, then wipe clean to use again.
