Randefalk X-Range Tuba 2-Piece Mouthpiece
The Randefalk X-Range is a two-piece tuba mouthpiece system, allowing you to choose your preferred cup and shank separately. This means you can keep the rim and cup you like while changing the shank to alter the feel, response and suitability for different instruments.
When purchasing a Randefalk X-Range Tuba 2-Piece Mouthpiece, you will be offered the following discounts:

The Randefalk range combines both V- and U-shaped cup characteristics, with a smooth transition into a small cone at the throat. The balance and weight are centred more towards the cup, helping to create a quick response, strong projection and plenty of overtones.
The mouthpieces are made from a heavy copper brass and are available with gold- or silver-plated cups, paired with a gold-plated interchangeable shank.
I choose to play Randefalk mouthpieces for the combination of flexibility, clear articulation, secure intonation and consistent tone quality throughout the register. For me, production feels particularly effortless because of the cup shape.
My main setup is the R3SX with an 8.2 shank. For solo playing requiring particularly demanding range, flexibility or technique, I use the smaller R4SX with an 8.0 shank.
X or SX?
X – Flatter rim with a sharper inner edge, giving a more direct and precise feel.
SX – More rounded rim, giving a more versatile and comfortable feel on the lips. The newer SX design also carries slightly more weight, helping to produce a fuller sound while retaining Randefalk's characteristic accuracy and projection.
The X models have now been discontinued, so the X cups available here are final remaining stock.
