Melted Shrug

DIGITAL KNITTING PATTERN available in English and German

The Melted Shrug is part cardigan, part shawl with sleeves and an all-around feel-good garment that you won’t want to take off.

This seamless oversized casual shrug has a fun modular top-down construction and is knit in two textures: the fluffy textural garter stitch is extra soft thanks to Qing Fibre’s Melted Baby Suri that is striped with Fingering weight Merino (use the same colorways for both bases for a softer look or different colors for a more graphic effect). The fronts and back are knit in two-color brioche to add another textural and stripe dimension.
The contrasting ribbed sleeve cuffs add a pop of color and make sure the shrug stays on. A matching i-cord surrounds the entire shrug for a neat and finished look.

Feel free to substitute two strands of Merino held together for the Melted Baby Suri or a fingering weight yarn of your choice.

Gauge:
22 sts / 38 rows = 10 cm / 4” in garter stitch

Measured relaxed after blocking. Gauge is not critical but it will influence the size of your finished shawl and your yardage!

Needles: US 4/3.5 mm circular needles (or size needed to obtain gauge or optimal drape), optional: DPNs of the same size for sleeves

Der Melted Shrug ist halb Jäckchen, halb Tuch mit Ärmeln und ein absolutes Wohlfühl-Kleidungsstück, das du gar nicht mehr ausziehen mögen wirst.

Diese extra weite lässige Jacke wird in einzelnen Modulen gearbeitet – und kommt daher ganz ohne Nähte aus!

Die Module im Kraus-Rechts-Musters sind dank dem sehr weichen Baby Suri-Alpaka-Garn besonders flauschig. Hier können für einen sanfteren Look beide Qualität in gleicher Farbe verstrickt werden, oder unterschiedliche Farben für mehr Kontrast.
Die Module vorne und hinten im zweifarbigen Patent verleihen noch mehr Textur und sind auch durch die Streifen in die andere Richtung ein Highlight.
Die extra-langen, gerippten Ärmelbündchen und das rund um den Shrug gestrickte I-Cord sind zusätzliche Farbtuper.

Anstatt des Melted Baby Suri können auch zwei Stränge Mohair-Garn zusammengehalten werden, oder es wird durch eine weiter Farbe eines Fingering-Fingereng-Garns (z.B. Merino Single) ersetzt.
