I eat well, I move my body, but something doesn't feel right.

Trying to “be healthy” can feel like stepping into a world of green juices, intense workouts, and contradicting advice, especially in this day and age of information. But true health is personal, layered, and deeply connected to your lifestyle, mental state, and even your past conditioning, owh yes, this is a big one. If you’re just starting out (or starting over), here are 10 truths that can save you the time building sustainable powerful wellness from the inside out.

1. Health is not a look—it’s a feeling

Let's get things right: forget what Instagram shows you. Health is waking up with energy, thinking clearly, easy digestion with minimal friction , and feeling safe in your body. It’s more about inner balance than outer appearances. When you are glowing from within, you radiate a different kind of vibe, if you know what I mean, hello gawkers!

2. Start small, stay consistent

Read that again, start small, not 'be' small, there's a difference. You don’t need a total life overhaul. One change, one micro-step at a time—like deviceless hour for better sleep or daily 10 minutes mid-day breathwork—done consistently can create massive ripple effects over time. When I was studying to be a Health Coach, that was the first rule: let your client start small, because it reduces the friction, the psychological resistance to change, which is a way that our ego works to keep us feeling falsely safe.

3. Stress sabotages everything

You could be eating organic, the cleanest diet available and still feel drained & terrible, Here's a missing piece no one tells you : Your stress is your self-sabotage mechanism. You know the moment, you say 'I'll start tomorrow morning" and tomorrow doesn't seem to come. Or you keep occupying yourself with 348 things denying yourself the rest you need. This is not laziness, it's conditioning that you need to keep doing, keep performing. You cannot thrive in a body that is needing to heal from stress with big restrictive actions, Let's learn how to honor our body's needs rather that what we have been told to constantly do. Learning to regulate your nervous system (through breathwork, somatic practices, or slowing down) is foundational, not supplemental.

4. Rather than overthinking what to eat, go back to ground ZERO : the nature

There's a reason why the number ZERO is so powerful, because it adds value to everything you place after it. Same goes :Your gut and hormones don’t need complex diets—they need cleaner inputs. Choose foods close to the earth: simple, seasonal, and preferably from local farmers’ markets. Avoid ultra-processed foods (any food with ingredients labels that has more than 5 should be returned to the shelf). Those overloaded with fertilizers, pesticides, preservatives and coloring agents are hormone-disrupters that throw off your body’s delicate balance. Eating this way supports gut health, reduces daily-micro-inflammation, and helps restore hormonal harmony.

5. Gut health = mental health, Aum

Say this as your mantra, every morning until it becomes your mojo. Your gut is your second brain. Bloating, cravings, anxiety, and mood swings often start there. Start with mindful eating, fermented foods, hydration, and fiber-rich meals. This is the most efficient way of glowing up from the gut!

6. You can’t heal in the same environment that made you sick/drained/exhausted

That means boundaries. Social media detoxes. Reassessing relationships. Energy hygiene. Your space—online and offline—matters. Explore that new yoga class, even if it means you can't touch the floor, look for circles that supports your growth if you don't come from one. 7. Listen to your gut, not trends

Remember the last time you were feeling ill? You were just curling on the bed/eating with a bowl of soup, that felt like a warm hug, why is that? That's your gut feeling, your body's wisdom, when you are ill, digestion is not the first body function, it's first priority is fighting against the pathogens so you can get back on your feet! Understanding your body has wisdom. The perfect diet or morning routine doesn’t exist—it’s what works for you. Slow down enough to hear what your body needs.

8. Rest is a non-negotiable

Burnout and hustle culture is not a badge of honor. You don’t need to earn rest especially if you have been the underdog your whole life—you need it to heal, grow, and regulate your hormones and nervous system so you can regulate exhaustion, emotional build up out of your body.

9. You’re allowed to enjoy the process

Being healthy isn’t a form of punishment. You don't need to run on a treadmill after a 'cheat' meal'. Instead of calling it a 'cheat meal' that you feel the need to earn, allow yourself the one ice-cream that you enjoyed when you were a child, or that piece of pizza that made you feel like a part of the family while you shared. Have healthy boundaries. Let it feel good. Choose joyful movement, meals that satisfy, and habits that spark excitement—not pressure. When you allow the space for you to enjoy, you will likely have more sustainable habits!

10. Healing is not linear, and your journey is uniquely yours

There will be off days. Old patterns will creep back. That doesn’t mean you’ve failed, or that you're 2 steps back—it means you’re human. You’re not late, behind, or broken. Your wellness path is uniquely yours—years down this path, you will be grateful, as you keep building your habits back up.
