In my early trading career, like many others in the financial markets, I wasted a lot of my precious time and hard-earned money system hopping, turning helplessly to a bunch of so-called trading gurus, and eventually backtesting hundreds of indicators in a hope of success. As you guess, none of them paid off; and specifically, in the case of indicators, I was made to trade like a blind monkey as I had no clue on what conditions the signals were issued.
As the name of ‘indicator’ speaks for itself, it’s simply lines of codes written to indicate a specific condition has been met and logically, we need to know what philosophy and mechanism behind the codes are to make the most of them. I’m quite certain that most of those in the trading community don’t even know the logic behind the indicators they try and interestingly, having done a ton of research, I came to know they’re mostly nothing but a group of codes based upon simple MA crossings and oversold/overbought areas of some oscillators, and at best a combo of them!
The thing is the existing indicators in the market mostly don’t take price action into consideration and if a few touched on this, contextualization is badly missed.
Thus, the pain I’ve been through throughout my journey to the summit of success was the driving force to answer my call of duty and to I rolled up my sleeves to take one more step for the trading community.
