๐ŸŽˆA Very Honest Birthday Check-In๐ŸŽˆ

Entry 6

Written at 47

Celebrating the fact that I am still here, still learning, and still slightly dramatic about snacks and peace.

Today I turned 47. I also, got my first Costco membership and shopped there today. ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Anywho, when I was younger, 47 sounded like a very put-together age. I thought by now I would have everything figured out. Savings stacked. Emotions balanced. House smelling like lemon cleaner at all times. A matching luggage set for no reason other than I could. Nevermind the fact that I haven't flown as an adult. Don't judge me!! It's coming!!!

Life saidโ€ฆ absolutely not.

What I do have at 47 is perspective. Hard earned perspective. The kind you only get from living through things you never would have signed up for. AT. ALL.

I have been a daughter trying to understand love.

A single mother raising boys while still raising myself.

A woman building stability out of whatever was available at the time.

Some years were about survival. Not thriving. Not glowing. Just making sure everybody ate, bills got paid, and I did not completely lose my mind in the process.

Other years brought joy in small, almost quiet ways. A good laugh. A day with no chaos. Enough money to do something fun just because. Those moments mattered more than people realize.

At 47, I am not chasing perfection. I am choosing peace. Real peace. The kind that does not need an audience. I am more honest now. About what I want. About what I will no longer tolerate. About who I am still becoming.

Listenโ€ฆ I still have goals. I still have dreams. I still have moments where I feel like I am just getting started. Which is both exciting and slightly exhausting. But today is not about pressure. It is about acknowledgment.

I made it here.

Through heartbreak. Through growth. Through mistakes I will never repeat. Through lessons that took longer than I would like to admit.

I am still curious. Still hopeful. Still a little childish. Still petty when necessary. Still very much me.

And honestlyโ€ฆ that feels like a win.

Happy birthday to me.
