Originally I just wanted to build a second mixer view so that I could change the pattern and mute tracks at the same time without having to switch the view on the Circuit in real time. I totally suck at that. I select the next pattern, feel the next bar rolling towards me, my fingers start frantically moving up and down the buttons, damn, where do I go now... uh, what... too late, fluffed the cue.
Well, and then more and more ideas came to me. Why not the effects on the mixer view as well? Maybe even editable? A macro view so I don't have to guess what I'm manipulating! Hey, why are there only 8 macros anyway?
The result now is the NC Companion, a performance and production buddy for both circuit models.
I am still testing it, but it will be out soon! Here's a feature list and some screenshots:
- A Mixer with 3 adjustable parameter knobs, level and and mute per synth/drum channel
- A Performance view with 16 faders or 8 xy pads freely assignable to any of the circuit's parameters
- A Macro page with all information about the macro parameters of the currently selected patch. It will even resolve the Modulation Matrix to destination and source, so that you really see what you're going to change
- An Effect editor to edit the hidden parameters of the circuit's effect section
- A Sample Tuner to play and record samples tuned in scale on the drum tracks
- Parameter Sanpshots to quickly store and recall all currently set mixer and performance values
- Hardware controller support including Midi Learn
- Up to 64 presets to save mixer and performance configurations.
- Preset Links to automatically load a preset when the project/session is changed on the circuit
