In Number and Quantity, the understanding of

• integers,
• decimals,
• fractions,
• ratio,
• proportion,
• percent,
• constant rates,
• place value,
• number ordering,
• properties of whole numbers,
• recognition of various ways to solve a problem,
• units and measurements are emphasized.

Knowledge of basic U.S. customary and metric systems of measurement is assumed.

Data Interpretation and Representation, Statistics, and Probability assesses:

• the ability to read and interpret visual display of quantitative information,
• understand the correspondence between data and data representation,
• make inferences from a given data display,
• determine mean, median, and mode,
• and assign a probability to an outcome.

Algebra assesses the ability to

• manipulate algebraic expressions,
• follow an arithmetic or algebraic procedure,

• and solve equations.

Geometry assesses the understanding of

• properties of geometric shapes,
• angles,
• congruence,
• similarity,
