Code 4 Rojava: Hevger Ibrahim Launches Free Online Coding Initiative for Youth

ROJAVA — A new community-based tech initiative, Code 4 Rojava, has officially launched to support young people in Rojava who want to learn programming or develop their tech ideas. The project was announced by Hevger Ibrahim, a Kurdish software developer based in Denmark who has become a passionate voice for using technology to empower Kurdish communities.

A Vision to Build Tech Skills in Rojava

Code 4 Rojava aims to create a space where aspiring programmers can learn, connect, and grow. The initiative is free, fully online, and open to everyone—whether you're a complete beginner or someone with a bit of coding experience looking for technical support.

“This initiative doesn’t mean we build projects for you,” Ibrahim explained in his Facebook post. “We offer guidance, mentoring, and technical help so you can overcome roadblocks and turn your ideas into reality.”

What Code 4 Rojava Offers

At the heart of Code 4 Rojava is direct, personalized support—something that sets it apart from typical online coding resources. Participants can connect with Hevger Ibrahim for individual guidance, whether they’re choosing a programming language, shaping a project idea, or deciding on the best learning path for their goals.

In addition to mentorship, the initiative provides practical resources to help learners apply what they’re studying. These include:

  • Access to curated learning materials, including quality courses from platforms like Udemy

  • Free tools like domain names and VPS servers to experiment with real deployments

  • A collaborative community space on Facebook, where learners can share progress, solve coding challenges, and support one another

The initiative also hosts weekly online sessions that break down programming topics into simple, clear concepts—ideal for anyone trying to build confidence in coding.

With no sign-ups or formalities required, Code 4 Rojava is designed to be as accessible as possible. It’s a grassroots effort powered by the belief that opportunity should be available to those who seek it—especially in underserved regions like Rojava.
