Does branding make sense to you?
If you said yes, please email me I have some questions.
If not, same! I still struggle with branding. Now as a copywriter you may find this concerning. I do not blame you.
To clarify I understand elements of branding. When I say branding I am thinking about amazing branding.
Like when you think of Rihanna what comes to mind? I bet you thought at least 3 positive things even if she isn't your favorite person. I think confidence, authentic, and cool.
Although they all sound similar there are slight nuances within each of these points. In they all have been pillars.
In her earlier career she explored sexier and alternative styles which kept to the pillars she has, now she is matured yet edgy and is sensual. Cool, confidence, and authentic never left her branding.
After many failed attempts at trying to be different I understood the appeal of simple and in your style.
If simple is not your style you could reframe as "It's not about you" it's about who you want to reach.
A balancing act of who do people see when they see you? Now I recommend it is still a version of who you are so you don't pass out trying to hold up a fake version of self.
If you want some eyes on your brand check out my After Light audit, you get a rundown with tweaks that bring you closer to your audience.
If people are new to your work imagine it like this. When you try to do everything at once, you overload new audience members with your whole back story.
- No body cares - at first.
- They came to this page for a purpose. What was it? Education? Entertainment? A service?
- Lead with purpose, then follow up with you.
Next find your vibe. I am going for witty, conversational, and offering new perspectives even if it's an older concept. I like calming imagery and a bit of whimsy.
Hence the Lanternsalt woo woo vibes and corny quotes. It makes me smile and I like to embrace my flavor of cringe.
