This list isn’t a traditional packing list in the sense that it doesn’t list every single thing you’ll want to bring with you. There’s plenty of those out there that will list everything from the “spork” you’ll need to eat to the sleeping bag you’ll need to stay warm at night.
Instead, this is a list of things to what to expect and how to plan for them, gear you’ll want to invest in before setting off into the muck and some of the things that I’ve found to make my moto trips less mishap and more epic fun. As I’ve learned many times over, it’s too easy to underestimate - and fail to prepare for - the challenges of rocky trails and open roads. This checklist hopes to give you a leg up with your preparation by sharing some of the knowledge I’ve gained from my many two-wheeled misadventures.
