The STELLAR Awards are coming in hot! With only 10 days left before submissions, you'll need to start preparing. Here at Luminosity, we've got some top tips for companies to do their best at the STELLAR Awards.
Tip 1: Know your dates.
Before you even start choosing something to submit, you need to know when you can submit. Nebula's and star's DMs are open on X or Discord from October 1st to 7th. We will start taking submissions from 12:00 AM EST on October 1st and will be refusing submissions after 12:00 AM EST on October 7th.
Tip 2: Get to work!
If you're having an event before October 1st, get it out! Work on it until you feel like it's perfected. As you do more and more events, you better your skills - at design, managing the event, and more. You'll also have more choices to choose from when you pick something for the Awards.
Tip 3: Choose wisely.
If you're considering Most Innovative Fake Product or Best Musical Endeavor by a Fake Company, you need to choose wisely! You can only send one submission per category. Here's what we recommend you do:
- Gather all of the releases you made from Janurary 1st to October 1st. We're talking about launches, not when you started working on it. Look back on X (formerly Twitter) posts and see when you posted them.
- Next, remember which products or releases you were extremely passionate about. We're talking about which ones you're most proud of, or the ones you spent a long time on and think you did a great job on. If you have multiple projects that you're passionate about, you can pick the #1 favorite your guts tell you (or you can randomly choose one ;)).
Tip 4: Think about your product. Then write.
You need to attach a sentence or two with your submission. You can make your description as long or short if you want, but make sure it describes how your product is unique and how it sets the standard in the FTU. A good example (and bad one!) is shown below:
Good: The [Product Name] is one of [Company Name]'s proudest achievements by incorporating a new design and futuristic technologies.
Bad: [Product Name] looks pretty cool ig and we spent on a lot of time pls choose it lol
Remember! You also need an image when you're submitting a product and/or musical endeavors. Company entries need not an image.
Tip 5: Get your troubleshooting and questions answered.
Below, we'll answer some questions and give you solutions for some issues you may encounter.
Q: I want to submit a product after October 1st, 2022. Why is the cutoff at January 1st, 2023?
A: This is STELLAR's first year! We're as excited as you, but we wanted to keep the cutoff simple for everyone to understand.
Q: I'm not sure when I released something. X isn't loading, so I can't find the date for my release! WHat should I do?
A: First, look at Payhip (or whatever website you use) and look for dates when you added a product or press releases. If all fails, you can just give a rough estimate. It's fine if you can't come up with a date - we care about you and the submission.
Q: I can't message star or Nebula on X or Discord. What should I do?
A: Follow us, and we'll follow you (or add us as a friend). We'll be following and adding back companies from October 1st to 6th. Wait for a while since we may be inactive during certain times of the week. If all fails, DM a company that can reach Nebula and we'll take it from here.
Please DM us if you have any questions or concerns. Follow these tips and you'll be on the pathway for success. You got this!
