News is an essential part of the human life. Without news, us humans have the primal urge to know what's going on around us. Right now, in the Fake Tech Universe, we have reached the lowest point of news where only one company is providing news - and has been widely read and reliable.
oNews has always been a reliable source of news. A stunning number of 459 tweets graces their profile, a mammoth amount than other news sources. With more than a year in experience, oNews just seems to understand how to do news.
But that's not enough. The FTU needs more news sources. Connecting it with my first article, "We Need a Review Company", it's always important to be informed. As Simon Sinek puts it aptly, "More information is always better than less. When people know the reason things are happening, even if it's bad news, they can adjust their expectations and react accordingly. Keeping people in the dark only serves to stir negative emotions.". Having a diverse feed of news let you receive confirmation, differing perspectives, and more knowledge.
News, in the FTU, is especially difficult to cover. This is because of multiple reasons: different time zones, people being busy, actual techology news not being covered, and just the vast number of companies in the FTU.
When companies set up their own news companies, it didn't take a genius to realize how slow news would be reported for certain services. Sometimes, after an event, you had to wait hours or even a day or two for it to be covered. Yes, we get that you have a life, but why bother with a news service if yo're busy? Slow news means that companies, don't get their new releases shared, which in turn makes attention of a company grow slower if they don't cause any disagreements. Also, the fact that some services are across the entire globe makes it worse for news to be transmitted slower than preferred.
What should news companies in the FTU report? Well, the first is obvious: up and coming technology, then company updates, and then news relevent to the FTU. In the last couple months, a ferment of dissention resulted in companies focused on things other than fostering a positive environment where we can make our dreams come true. Being side-tracked results in a pile of homework to do. How do we combat this? Well, it took the people in the FTU awhile, but we eventually learned to ignore the dissention.
The FTU has over 30 verified fake companies - obviously, only less than half are active, but that's still a lot. All companies need to continue progressing and creating new items, announcing new events, and staying relevant. Since the news also have to caption their posts instead of simply reposting announcements (which in turn makes them look lazy and seem like they're not putting any effort in), it's very time-consuming. People have lives, so naturally they don't have the time to anything of this.
This is not really a call to action like my first article, but rather, an observation of the state of news in the FTU. I know that someone can step up and help keep the FTU informed - I've seen it happen. But what do we do in the meantime? Well, we can only leave it to the pros and wait in the meantime.
