With NXOMARK now Evolve, who's going to review our products?
In May 18, 2023, Nebula had private messaged the NXOMARK X account to review the Nebula Phone 1, with a link attached to the website. The next day, the account replied, "Ok! We will be doing one soon", before disappearing the face of earth. Four months later, and NXOMARK is now Evolve. What happened to NXOMARK?
Evolve, or formerly known as NXOMARK, appeared suddenly in my notifcations with the text "new kid on the block". It turned out quickly to be known as a company rebranding. Evolve's new X profile shows a new logo, header, and a post with only the text "Evolve", followed with an image with the text "Evolve./Conceptual technology with/function and form in mind." This cryptic teaser doesn't reveal much about the company's goals and intentions. We have currently tried to reach Evolve and its parent company, FUZION, via X Direct Messages, but neither has provided a conclusive answer yet.
Now that NXOMARK, once a definitive solution for companies to market their new products through reviews, is gone, what is left for companies? Companies need a credible voice to say that their products are good. Sending it to a news company won't be of use, since they're run by companies that already sell devices, which results in a bias. Companies that favor others or have a good relationship with may leave favorable reviews, and vice versa. Review companies help us understand what the issue is with our products and how we can improve them in the next update - for example, if a review says that the design of a phone doesn't achieve what the company is trying to achieve, then they might be able to make it more appealing in the next update.
Not only do review companies give us feedback, they also add another facet to the ecosystem we know as the Fake Tech Univervise. It makes it more fun and competitive for all. We enginneer products to make them the best - but how do we know if it is really the best if we only compare it to ourselves? Seeing how our products stack up to others exhorts us to try our best in making products that have the consumer in mind, with the highest specs and quality possible. This only makes our companies closed off to each other, with the exception of the occasional collaboration.
With this short message over, I leave with a parting question: what's next?
