CarPod features an advanced display, one of a kind magnetic attachment system, powerful entertainment apps commonly used while driving, and more.
CarPod features a 7.9” LCD display. The display is capable of 1000 nits peak brightness and 20 nits minimum brightness. A nano-texture coating is applied so headlights, sunshine, and more don’t reflect off, distracting a driver.
Inside, CarPod is powered by an all new S5 chip. This chip helps drive the high quality audio experience, run the apps at fast speeds, and run advanced safety features CarPod is now capable of.
For instance, if you’re in a crash, CarPod may be able to detect it and offer to call emergency services. If there’s no response, CarPod will call emergency services for you and Ava will explain what has happened.
If it may have been triggered accidentally, you can report this data to Orange for better training, and cancel the emergency call.
CarPod runs an advanced operating system built on top of PadOS 7. It features simplified version of all of our apps that offer glanceable information, audio experiences, and more.
Apps like Orange Music has been built to take advantage of CarPod’s large display.
CarPod’s advanced quad-speaker system gives an amazing experience, and for users who want even more, you can use bluetooth or wired connections to pass playback off to your vehicle’s in-built speakers.
On the back, CarPod features an all new magnetic attachment system. During checkout, choose clips or CD slot as the way for the system to attach to CarPod. Once attached, set CarPod against the magnets and it’ll begin to power on. Connect to a USB-C cable for CarPod to charge. CarPod can also be wirelessly charged using a MagHold3 charger.
CarPod supports QuickCharge, just like OrangePhone, and is capable of up to 50% charge in 30 minutes. CarPod supports up to 75 hours of audio playback.
Users are also able to lock CarPod’s display while active to prevent unwanted control and will also be able to lock CarPod entirely, requiring a password when woken from sleep.
CarPod costs just $189 with all services and features included at no extra cost.
CarPod is available for pre-order today, and will be available in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and U.K. beginning this July.
