Introducing oPhone 12

oPhone 12 features an improved display, faster O12 chip, updated dual camera system with improved Night Mode, the M3 modem with support for 13G, PowerDrop, and more.

oPhone 12 starts with the same shockingly thin design as oPhone 11, which is nearly 50% thinner than previous generation models like OrangePhone 9s. On the back, the aluminum camera bar has been replaced with a new three dimensional glass housing, which polished and shined for a one of a kind look. And this design is still just as comfortable and easy to hold, with a display that goes edge to edge.

The new display of oPhone 12 features the same great 6.3” inch size that you know and love. And, it’s still built with our custom Horizon process. The Horizon display allows us to achieve thinner borders, a thinner profile, and our under display sensor system. The display is as fast and fluid as ever with 120Hz Adaptive SmoothMotion, and shines outdoors with a 3,500 nits peak brightness. This display is as tough as ever with our durable Ceramic Display glass.

Now, let’s talk performance. Inside, oPhone 12 is supercharged by the next generation O12 chip. O12 features an 8-core CPU, 8-core GPU, and 18-core NPU, driving the faster performance of oPhone. Compared to O9, our most popular chip, O12 features a 35% faster CPU, allows for up to 2x better graphics, and is capable of 28% faster neural performance, which helps drive our new intelligence features in PhoneOS 12, like Ava and our first ever LLM, Atlas. Together with the rest of the entirely redesigned PhoneOS 12, O12 is a match made in heaven.

PhoneOS 12 introduces unique new capabilities with a redesigned camera app, which is made better by our updated dual camera system.

The new dual camera system features a sharper 48MP ultra-wide, and an even better 4 in 1 108MP Fusion main lens. Both lenses feature significant advancements to Night Mode. This is truly our best dual camera system that we have ever shipped.

Connectivity is an even more vital part of the smartphone experience. With the previous generation O10 and O11 chips, we began to integrate our own custom modem into oPhone. Today, we’re launching our next generation custom modem, and we call it, M3. M3 has been built from the ground up to be both powerful and efficient. It starts with support for 13G, which brings the fastest speeds ever for an oPhone, all while being up to 2x more efficient. Instead of being integrated into the SoC, M3 is built with a Connector Channel, so immediate information is still relayed directly to the system. This way, the modem and chip both experience over 25% less heat compared to O11. In fact, M3 is so much more powerful and efficient, it’s the same modem we built into Orange Watch 12.

We’re also building our own custom chips for nearly every part of the experience now too, including B1 for bluetooth connectivity, L1 for WiFi, and F1 for ultra wide band finding, supporting a 3x wider radius than the chip we were using before. This means that the entire experience of oPhone 12 is now made by Orange, so everything works more cohesively than ever before.

Now, let’s talk power. With all the advancements made with our silicon, oPhone 12 is able to achieve longer all day battery than oPhone 11. And when your battery does run low after a long day, you can use PowerDrop to quickly juice up. PowerDrop allows two oPhone 12 models touch their backs together, beginning a wireless charge between the two. PowerDrop will work with any Qi device, including previous models of oPhone, Orange Watch, and oBuds.

Lastly, oPhone 12 has great safety updates. We’ve already been building safety features into oPhone for years, including Emergency SOS, Emergency SOS with Satellite, Call with Satellite 1 and 2, among support for other services from our partners. Now, just like on Orange Watch 12, we’re bringing Crash Detection to oPhone 12.

oPhone 12 is available in six new colors, Purple, Rose Gold, Sky Blue, Orange, Starlight, and Midnight.

oPhone 12 starts from the same price of $999.
