Portal is a one-of-a-kind device that makes your home more unique, futuristic, fun, and most importantly, more you.
Portal starts with a large 48” circular display, the first of its kind from Orange. This large display is fully laminated, leaving no gaps between the display and its glass. Portal is also built with multi-touch, so you can tap, swipe, and touch the UI and display as much or as little as you need. When you do, Portal looks fast and fluid with a 120Hz refresh rate. And, since it’s built for the bright environment of your home, Portal is capable of up to one thousand nits brightness, so it’s viewable from across the house, from the kitchen, around the corner, or from the bedroom. Since the display is vital to Portal, we’ve built in support for P3 wide color, making this one of the most accurate large displays on the market. If you feel your Portal is ever off, you can Color Balance, introduced with Orange TV earlier this month, to make sure it looks exactly how it’s supposed to.
Portal is crafted with a beautiful and durable silver aluminum frame. Since there are no interruptions and the display is huge, we’ve built shortcut buttons into the side of Portal. Created using the same haptic and static buttons we use on oPhone 11, Portal clicks and responds when you press a button. On the side, you’ll see buttons for App View, Clock, WhiteBoard, Photos, power, and Ava, all of which have been designed to take full advantage of Portal’s display and size. And, Portal integrates with your other devices, so you can see your Calendar, Messages, Health Reports, and Weather notifications, all at a quick glance. And, Portal stays attached and connected with a strong rear magnetic mounting system and a USB-C port for power.
Portal comes equipped with O9, which helps drive the experiences throughout our included apps. O9 enables support for T2 and AirShare Ultra so you can quickly share new images to Portal. O9 also enables support for Orange Pencil 2. Using the Bluetooth capabilities of OrangePad, Orange Pencil, and Portal, OrangePad hands off connectivity of Orange Pencil, letting you write, create, and jot down ideas on the largest display in your home.
Portal also comes built with a 12MP camera for photos, hand-off video calls, and Mirror Mode, a custom carbon fiber vent design to reduce weight and strain on the magnetic system, and profile switching support powered by oPhone, all in a design that’s just 7.3mm thick.
Portal will start at $9,999. You can pre-order it beginning in October, and it’ll be available in December.
