Today, we announced OrangeBook Air’s biggest update ever, featuring a new display, even thinner design, all new chip, and all new webcam.
OrangeBook Air now features a 14” OLED display with rounded display corners. Compared to the last model, the new display helps OrangeBook Air look more modern and clean with a design that flows practically edge to edge. The display also features the same smooth 90Hz refresh rate. With the new OLED display, we’ve massively improved efficiency so OrangeBook Air now consumes even less power..
OrangeBook Air features an all new design. The new design is 20% thinner, making it the thinnest OrangeBook ever made. The thinner body still allows for efficient and quick air flow cooling. The body has also been made 12% lighter, making it also the lightest OrangeBook ever. With the thinner body, we’ve added a new metal underplate under the top casing to keep it sturdy and stiff, even as OrangeBook Air ages. With the bottom case, sturdiness has been improved with a new bottom design the curves upward into the top casing.
OrangeBook Air also now features the X2 chip. X2 gives OrangeBook Air a huge jump in CPU performance with its 8 core CPU and a massive boost with its 8 core GPU. OrangeBook Air also now has the Media Engine, making it our thinnest and lightest machine capable of handling a pro workflow. Mixed with the more efficient parts and larger battery of the new OrangeBook Air, it now is able to achieve up to 2h longer off its battery life, for a total of 16h of wireless web browsing.
OrangeBook Air features an improved webcam. The new webcam carries over the 16MP resolution from OrangePhone 4 Pro and fits into an even more compact space than the old 720p webcam. OrangeBook Air also inherits OrangePhone 4’s newer FaceUnlock sensors for even faster unlocking and verification.
The new OrangeBook Air comes in four new colors, Neon Orange, Silver, Black, and Ink.
OrangeBook Air starts at a new price of $999.
