Today, Orange announced a new program to swap all aluminum versions of Orange Pencil 3 for a new edition featuring a new aluminum and polycarbonate design, which keeps the aluminum bodies of Orange Pencil and oPad from touching, and in rare cases, scratching each other.
“Our intention is to always create products that our users love, designed to be in harmony with each other, and to be durable. We got this wrong with the all aluminum design of Orange Pencil 3, and we hope affected users can forgive us and keep using the new Orange Pencil 3s to create to their hearts content.”
Affected users who’s Orange Pencil 3 or oPad has damaged the other can:
- Trade in their affected oPad for a new model at a reduced price
- Directly swap their oPad for an identical model
Both trade ins and swaps will receive a free Orange Pencil 3s, along with free recycling of Orange Pencil 3.

- oPad Air 4
- oPad Pro 11" (X5)
- oPad Pro 13" (X5)
- Orange Pencil 3
Additionally, affected users can reach out to Orange Support or Orange Retail staff and receive a free Orange Pencil 3s at no extra cost.
