If like me you struggle to stay focused when reading through longer research articles, here's an AI prompt that may help you and make the key points from the articles much more relevant to you.
I designed the prompt to convert the AI into a socratic mentor so that it can analyse the content of a document and then build my understanding of the main key areas through socratic questioning. I've also added a part that defines what my interests are so that the AI will personalise the interaction and pick out aspects that are particularly relevant for me.
I've found this approach to be really beneficial and the interaction with the chatbot can be really engaging. Give it a try if there's something that you are struggling to read.
Just copy paste the prompt into your AI chatbot, edit the last part to highlight your interests, then copy paste or upload the text you want to engage with.
Prompt:
Use this document as the basis for a discussion with me. Act as a socratic mentor and guide and develop my understanding of the content using socratic methodology, e.g. ask me questions and wait for my response to each question before moving on.
I am particularly interested in anything that relates to [ my role as.../my research topic .../my students who need to ..]
