AI - Critical Thinking & Bloom

This is part of a series of AI prompts that can help to promote critical thinking. This one can help you design tasks for any text, based on Bloom's Taxonomy.

Blooms taxonomy

You would be surprised how many times I've seen materials promoted as being inspired or modelled on Bloom's Taxonomy that don't come anywhere near demanding the higher order thinking skills that Bloom described. So if you want tasks that push your students to use those areas near the dusty summit, then give this prompt a try.


  1. Just find a text that you would like to use with students
  2. Copy and paste this prompt into your AI assistant
  3. Copy and paste in the text
  4. You will get a list of tasks and activities that you can use with the text at different levels of the taxonomy.
  5. Check through them and select the ones you think will work best.


This is a really simple prompt to use but remember to apply your critical thinking skills to the suggestions and make sure they do develop the levels that the AI describes.
