As part of the research I've been doing recently, I've been looking at a few different ways of getting AI to create video.
One place I hadn't expected to find this was in Google's NotebookLM.
This is a video I created using the newish video creation feature.
- The theme of the Notebook is AI and Ethics https://vimeo.com/1115547648?share=copy
- You can see the complete notebook here: https://notebooklm.google.com/notebook/25ac8bee-ceb5-4676-83f4-94938d3e07b2
The video is generated from content I uploaded to the notebook. By content I mean PDF research papers and links to various websites and articles. Once the articles and research is uploaded, one of the options I have is to create a video summary of the main points. I can do this in a single click. It takes a few minutes for the video to be created, but once it is done, I can share it or download it.
The video does a pretty good job of covering the theme by taking information I've uploaded to the notebook and adding graphics and voiceover. True it's not a work of art, but it is a really quick way of creating training materials that are engaging and informative.
How to use it:
- Create your notebook and upload your information sources, then get NotebookLM to produce the video.
- Get your trainees to watch it and make notes about the information in the video, then get them to write questions to find out more about the points they found interesting.
- Next give them a link to the notebook and give them some time to ask the notebook questions and get some answers to their questions.
For me, this is a much more interesting way of engaging with research than sitting down and just reading a collection of papers and one that's much more socratic in nature.
