Back in July 2025 I was part of a webinar that was organised by the British Council on the topic of 'How to partner with AI to engage with educational research' - You can watch the recording here: https://youtu.be/gaYRg3lvQYY?si=c__j-nQbvQ8-PU0N
In the webinar I looked at how to use Google Notebook LM and how to use ChatGPT with a socratic questioning prompt to make research more engaging.
I thought both of these techniques were pretty effective, but this week I came across StudySpace: https://study.space. It's a remarkable tool that you can use to make reading research into an engaging simulation.
There are a number of ways it can help.
- First, if you upload a document, it will read the document and construct a presentation complete with presentation slides and voiceover narration that you can work through.
- This is a nice multimodal approach that can help make the reading process more engaging.
- You can also follow the original document in a side panel and see where in the document the information is coming from and what's being skipped.
This is great, but what I like even more is that it will turn the document into an interactive simulation game, so you have to make decisions based on your understanding of the content in order to succeed in the game.

I think this is marvellous and a much better way to test understanding than comprehension questions.
- I used it to explore a UNESCO paper about their AI Competency Framework. You should be able to try it here: https://study.space/s/vQX4yUV?title=AI_in_Education_and_Key_Principles
- I also created a game about preparing my workforce to ensure that my business was successful for the next 10 years.
You can try it here: https://study.space/s/hgrMPXz
There's a lot more to explore here and it's easy to check out what other people are exploring in 'The Circle': https://study.space/circle or the Journal area https://study.space/journal
It' free to register, so give it a try and I hope you enjoy it.
