A few of my friends have asked me why create this guide?

I've been a car guy since the womb, the first word I said was imitating a car. You might know me from Youtube, IG, TikTok (400k followers @gettingpricedin) where I break down real 2026 investment cars, off-market deals, and ways to actually get in on the next opportunity waves, preferrably physical ones that wont be eliminated by reduced software costs, before the market is fully efficient and those discrepancies are priced in. This is done best with good data, and knowledge focused in the right places. As for which specific car, that's your decision. My goal is to help you not be overwhelmed by the data, and let you choose good options, some of which are expected to appeciate, matching and exceeding inflation, or something like the S&P500 at 10%, and then go with the car based on your personal taste.

Why share instead of keeping this cleared up data for myself? Simply, there's enough to go around. With thousands of car models fluctuating and changing priority every year, as some models go higher in price, they become less attractive at cartain price points unless you score a good deal privately, and on top of that, each year the best cars change as new data comes out for the number that get taken off the roads or unfortunately totalled.

Born of frustration (Like Tim Booth, Jim Glennie and Larry Gott) for Scotland's pothole ridden roads, I lived shortly in central London (see picture) where I was working in financial services, having seen firsthand the extraordinary carspotting community there such as TFJJ and many others, as well as experiencing other european spots in person in Zurich, Basel, Berlin, Vienna, smaller car meetups in Edinburgh, Northern Italy, and Scandinavia. I couldn't get enough of the positivity in these car scenes, which have genuinely been restoring my faith in humanity and as such I've been truly humbled and to grow relationships with and contribute towards. I have 23 different small partnerships, from enthusiasts to carspotters, editors and photographers, which have given me a plethora of material with which to make this beautiful guide for you.

I've personally felt frustrated having been burned by buying cars that depreciated even more, had higher-than-expected repair & maintenance costs, and the cherry on the cake, extremely low resale value. I had seen these new clubs coming up in england which provide investment advice specifically for cars and we've all seen these stories about "you should have bought the Ferrari F40 15 years ago at the trough of it's value." The thing is, there are other great opportunities than that that can be found today at a lower price point.

Car investing has started to grow even faster in popularity, for many reasons. Several cars on this list i've curated have outperformed one of the best performing assets of the last five years. Gold, which has seen around a 150% increase over the last five years to 2026. Gold, which despite being a top asset, is cold, soulless and hard to transport. cars can be the opposite, full of life, excitement and warmth, can also be doing around 100-250% over 5 years, outperforming gold, and even most tech stocks in my opinion.

Everyone would like to find their Cosmic Girl like Jay Kay, who got his second Lamborghini Diablo SE30 for £180,000, (now worth £550,000) but the reality is we often dont have a spare 200k hanging about burning a hole in our pockets. Some models in this guide that perform really well can be found under 30k. I've been told stories from car guys, finding a good price privately, actually driving their car, not just holding it in a garage, paying all maintenance and repairs, putting thousands of miles on it, and still getting a nice profit on top of those costs, after years. Of course that's the dream, and I will share these stories with you and you can see that these good opportunities are not so rare or hard to find as you think, with a bit of proper research.

It's been eye-opening to both be building something, and to see a genuine positive community that supports each other, from everyday enthusiasts, to detailers, to buyers, to car financiers, classics insurance providers, car buyer scouts in the USA and UK.

Like you, I'm always learning, and I enjoyed creating several english speaking groups, growing PetrolScene on YouTube with 200+ videos until we got tragically removed at 24,000 for showing some drifting videos (or perhaps because we bashed EVs a little too hard) and we still have Facebook groups at multiple hundreds of thousands of car guys, and are starting our other accounts. Over this time i've had time to talk with so many investors and enthusiasts and think what I want to do in this space in the next years.
