Capturing Moments, Creating Stories

Step into a world where visuals speak louder than words. My cinematic short films blend striking imagery, evocative storytelling, and intentional design to create immersive experiences that linger in the mind. Each frame is crafted with precision—playing with light, movement, and emotion to capture the essence of human connection, transformation, and the unseen beauty in everyday moments.

From moody, atmospheric narratives to bold, experimental visuals, my work explores the depth of storytelling through film, design, and artistic direction. Whether you’re here to watch, feel, or own a piece of the vision, welcome to a space where cinema and artistry collide.

Queen Renessence the 1st

I'm Essence, the creator behind Renessence Designs Co. — a multidisciplinary art and film studio built on one belief: creativity shouldn't be boxed into a single lane. I've been an artist since childhood, and my creative journey has never lived inside one medium. I danced, played viola, drums, and baritone, spent three years as a flag girl in high school, cheered a basketball season, performed on college dance teams, and even had a role in an Aladdin ballet production as a kid. Art has always been part of me — I just hadn't found its final form yet.

My deeper dive into fine art came during a transformative chapter of my life: my 2019–2020 military deployment. During training in California, stripped of my phone for two weeks, I started sketching whatever was in front of me, with no idea where it would lead. That curiosity followed me to Kuwait, where I shipped canvases, paint, and brushes to my base and found real solace in painting while on duty. When I returned stateside, I moved to Dallas and tried to build a wood painting business. It didn't take off, but it taught me what it actually takes to run one. Life knocked me down for a while, and I set art aside — until a therapy session brought me back to myself. I realized I couldn't walk away from it. On January 11th, 2021 at 1:11 PM, I officially opened my art business, and I haven't stopped building since — through rebrands, trials, and lessons, always moving forward.

Since then, I've received an art grant from the City of Houston through the Houston Art Alliance, shown work in two Pancakes and Booze art shows, been invited to a residency in New York, had my work selected for an art book, and been approached to collaborate on children's books. I don't work in one style, and that's intentional. I don't chase a niche or box myself into a signature aesthetic. I create what moves me — whatever my eyes capture and whatever inspiration hands me in the moment. That freedom is the point.

In December 2023, that same instinct pulled me somewhere new: I started filming 30-second to one-minute day in the life clips, but shot and edited with a cinematic eye. That became the start of my film journey. The skills I built behind the camera and in the edit bay started showing up everywhere — in my content, my brand work, my storytelling. It became clear that art and film weren't separate paths for me; they were the same language, spoken two different ways.

That realization led me to begin my Master of Fine Arts in Motion Picture and Television at the Academy of Art University in June 2025, which I'm actively pursuing now. Film and fine art speak the same language to me — both are about translating the world into a still or moving picture, telling a story without ever needing a single word. My favorite genres to work in and study are true crime, mystery, romance, drama, comedy, and — always — sci-fi. Beyond the fine art and film world, I've also pivoted into technical fields — UX/UI design, AI, machine learning, and augmented reality — because I believe in expanding rather than narrowing.

Looking ahead, I hope to travel the world — immersing myself in art, culture, and education wherever I go, and letting that experience feed everything I create next.

Through Renessence Designs Co., my goal is to build a space where art, film, and design exist without borders — where the work speaks first and the labels come second, if at all. Whether you're here for the art, the film, or the story behind both, I'm glad you're in this space with me. We're just getting started, and I can't wait to see how far this goes.
