I've heard good things about Skybound Comics, Energon Universe. It seems its even made Cobra-La, acceptable. Mind you, I never as a kid had a problem with the Science Fiction/Sci-fi elements that appeared in the rebooted GI Joe series. In fact those things probably helped draw my interest to it more than if had been straight military fiction.

I might have to check this shared universe...
