Miles Teg clearly was intended to be DUNE'S final Messiah. The Super Being who defeats the outside Enemy and United Scattered Humanity in a new Imperium - Because Frank Herbert wrote Medievalism and that structure would be the final form.
Brian Herbert took what was to be Miles Teg's role and retrofitted it onto Duncan Idaho. That is not even a valid point of debate. Anyone who understands literature and storytelling structure can see it.
But Miles Teg's existing in the DUNE Canon is real problem for the "Paul is a Warning/Secret Bad Guy" crowd.
In order for DUNE to complete itself. It requires a charismatic leader and Super Being to fulfill the Golden Path. This definitely smashes the accepted "Official Message" and discourse that suggests DUNE is some deconstruction or warning about charismatic leaders. The Saga literally needs a Charismatic Leader to bring it to its conclusion.
This is not something you would write - Continue to make humanity dependent on Messiah figures if you were critiquing or warning against the notion.
Miles Teg collapses that misreading and deliberate Subversion of the text and canon simply by existing.
