About Me

Hi, I'm Jaynene.

I'm a stay-at-home homeschooling mom in South Louisiana, with two boys living in a cozy single family home, and a husband who keeps me steady.

A few years ago I was overweight, stressed exhausted, and drinking more often that I should have to cope, but God being rich in mercy and grace has been building me up over the last couple of years, and what He has been working in me since is what fills this store.

The preschool curriculum that took my boys from struggling to thriving. The simple dietary changes + X3 path that took 40 pounds off and helped me build muscle, without a gym, or crazy amounts of time, or a complicated system. And the faith underneath all of it: my body is not my own. Stewardship instead of vanity. Simplicity over complicated.

I'm not a doctor, a nutritionist, a trainer, or a pastor. I'm just a stay-at-home mom passing along what God has done in real life, for the mom who doesn't have time for complicated systems.

I just want to glorify Jesus and help others who are looking for the same things I was looking for: Simplicity and order. Thank you so much for being here! God bless!

Why I Created Foundations in Truth

When I started homeschooling, I did what a lot of moms do — I asked around, got recommendations, and bought a curriculum that came with glowing reviews from friends I trusted. I went with a Christian, Charlotte Mason based curriculum called MasterBooks. On paper it checked every box.

In practice, it didn't work for us.

My son and I were overwhelmed almost immediately. The amount of work and time it required for his age was more than either of us could realistically sustain day after day. It didn't feel like discipleship or learning — it felt like survival. And as we moved into first grade, something even more concerning came up. I started noticing that some of the "Christian" content being taught didn't actually line up with what the Bible says. That wasn't a small issue for me. If I was going to spend our days teaching my children truth, it had to actually be true — fully, not mostly.

So I stepped back and started building something myself.

I wanted to begin with the simplest, truest things — who God is, and who we are as His creation — taught in a way young children could actually absorb and hold onto. Instead of packing in more subjects and more content, I went the opposite direction. I made it mastery-based and repetitive on purpose, because I wanted my kids to build a genuinely strong reading and math foundation first, before we added anything else that would overwhelm their young minds.

That decision changed everything for our homeschool. Lessons became calm instead of chaotic. My children started actually retaining what they learned instead of rushing past it. And the doctrine being taught matched what I knew to be true from Scripture, not just what sounded nice on a curriculum cover.

Foundations in Truth is that same approach, built for preschoolers. One verse a week, repeated until it's truly known. One letter a day. One number a day. Simple, hands-on, doctrinally sound — no prep required, no overwhelm, no compromise on truth.

This isn't a curriculum I built to sell first and teach second. It's the curriculum I needed and couldn't find on the shelf — built first for my own children, and now for yours.
