WHAT IS THE NAMERVERSE?

The Namerverse — or Nameverse — is a concept found in the soulmark AU, and is categorised underneath the "Soulmate Identifying Marks" subtrope.

The Namerverse is said to have originated in Korean fandoms, but has also slowly started to branch out into other fandoms over the years.

People in the Namerverse are commonly divided into two categories: "Namers", those who were born with the name or initials of their destined partner/s somewhere on their bodies, and "No-Namers" or “Namerless”, those who weren't born with any mark on their bodies.

In some stories the marks on the "Namers" are faint when they're destined mates aren't born yet, and become clearer when they are. In some stores "Namers" are considered special and gain access to special perks and benefits from the government once their "Namer" status is made public and they register on the Namer Registry.

The Namer Registry is a worldwide initiative that can allow "Namers" to find their soulmate, that is if their soulmate has also registered on the Namer Registry.

The Namerverse is most commonly found in the Korean BL manhwa community, but has slowly been branching out into other fandoms over the years.

Other tropes under the Soulmate Identifying- Mark subtrope include, but definitely aren't limited to: "Glowing heart", "Changed vision", "Colours", "First/Last words", "Matching injuries", "Tally marks", "Shared vision or thoughts", Symbols/Tattoos", "Timers", "Writing on skin/Skin writing" and more!

Some examples of the Namerverse are Blue name pressure, Pian pian, Misunderstanding, Ebony Castle, Evergrey and so on.
