The Puddingverse is an alternate universe style concept that has recently been created by a japanese fandom community found on Pixiv and the verse can definitely be considered to be a spin-off of the Cakeverse, but instead of the typical “Cakes”, we've got “Puddings”, instead of “Forks” we've got “Spoons”.
PUDDINGS:
Puddings make up about 5% of the overall population, they are sweet tasting humans and are eaten by spoons. From the back of their necks/scent glands, Puddings can release a pheromone that a Spoon can recognise and that attracts unmarked Spoons — inhibitors/suppressants have been created to help Puddings with their pheromones, but they aren't a permanent help.
As soon as a Pudding is born, they have to undergo a test to determine if they are indeed Puddings. And along with there being regular Puddings (that are typically on the shorter side), there are also Poison Puddings and Cure Puddings.
POISON PUDDINGS:
Poison Puddings are said to be commonly male, and they make up about 2% of the overall population of Puddings. The bodies of these Puddings are known for being toxic, especially for Spoons. If a Spoon happens to touch a poison Pudding, much less eat one, the Spoon can die almost instantly.
Poison Puddings are also said to be toxic to regular Puddings and regular humans, and because of their toxicity poison Puddings are required to wear black gloves to show that they’re a poison Pudding. They can also be identified by their violet eyes.
Cure Puddings are said to be immune to the toxicity of a Poison pudding.
Poison Puddings can only mark and be marked by healer Spoons.
CURE PUDDINGS:
Cure Puddings are said to commonly be women and they’re even rarer than a poison Pudding. Unlike poison Puddings whose entire bodies are toxic, cure Puddings can be considered a universal panacea for regular Puddings and regular humans by being able to cure all kinds of illnesses and injuries.
There’s a rumour that eating a cure Pudding’s heart can even grant one immortality.
A cure Pudding’s pheromones are stronger that a regular Pudding’s making them an easy target for Spoons. To protect themselves, cure Puddings tend to disguise themselves as poison Puddings (wearing black gloves and violet contact lenses).
However, even though cure Puddings are walking panacea, they themselves live in constant pain with a lifespan of only twenty odd years. Though their lifespan can be extended and their pain relieved if they were to mate with a healer Spoon.
A week before their lifespan is said to end their hair starts turning white, their heart deteriorates and they weaken, but a cure Pudding can be saved by this outcome if they mate with healer Spoon.
Cure Puddings are said to possess intelligence and physical abilities that are abnormally high and they can be identified by their dark blue eyes.
SPOONS:
Spoons prey on Puddings and they make up about another 5% of the world's population. When a Spoon smells a Pudding’s pheromone their appetite becomes uncontrollable, because like Forks in the Cakeverse, Spoons in the Puddingverse they lose their sense of smell and taste at a young age. And along with there being regular Spoons there are also healing Spoons.
HEALING SPOONS:
Healing Spoons are commonly said to be male and they make up less than 1% of the overall Spoon population. Like regular Spoons they lose their sense of taste and smell at a young age (typically at birth).
Like a cure Pudding, healing Spoon also have powerful healing abilities like a cure Pudding’s, but their abilities only work on Puddings and Spoon and not on regular humans.
If paired with a cure Pudding, a healing spoon would be able to extend the lifespan of the cure Pudding.
And if paired with poison Spoon, a healing Spoon could neutralize a poison Pudding’s toxicity.
A healing Spoon can be identified by their light blue eyes and they’re said to have physical abilities and an intelligence superior to those of cure Pudding’s.
BRAND:
A brand is a romantic relationship a Pudding and Spoon can form, think of it as something similar to a mating bond between an Alpha and Omega. A brand can be formed in a variety of ways, but typically sealing the proposal with a kiss could work. When a Spoon is branded their pheromones will no longer be recognised by Spoons other than their partner’s.
A brand can only be broken when one or both partners die.
The Puddingverse is still very much in its infancy so there is room for the concepts within the verse to be expanded upon — and even other ideas to be added to the mix — as more and more authors and readers stumble upon this trope.
