I had two dreams in one night. And they were connected in a way I didn't understand until I sat with it.
The first was about an ex. The second was about purses. But really, they were both about the same thing: old value, old intimacy, and the moment I realized what I gave away.
Let me tell you what happened.
I was in the back seat of a car with an ex. Broad daylight. Fall. Chilly. We both had our coats on. We were about to be intimate.
Just as we started, a man came running down the street like he was running from something. Like he'd committed a crime. He almost jumped into the passenger side to hide. Then he noticed us in the back seat.
My ex immediately went for his gun. The man jumped out. He looked at us. He had on all white, and his face was black β charred deeply. No skin color. No live flesh anywhere. Just burned. He yelled "I'm sorry!" in fear and ran away.
My ex was mad at the guy. But I was angry about something else entirely. I asked him why he didn't check the doors before we started.
He looked disappointed. Sad. He whispered, "Baby, I forgot."
That was the whole thing. He forgot to protect me before he asked me to be vulnerable.
Old relationships feel familiar. But they never secured the space. They invite you in without locking the doors. They want intimacy without safety. And when you ask for the basics, they look at you like you're asking for too much.
He said, "Baby, I forgot." And I was supposed to just be okay with that.
Then the dream shifted.
I was helping with a yard sale. I gave the woman in charge my purses β ones I wasn't using. I mentioned an ex gifted them to me. I didn't want them anymore.
She was shocked. So many. So beautiful. She said she was going to research them and price them fairly. She hung them on an old school clothesline with the prices attached.
I started looking at them. And I was shocked. Expensive. Name brand. Leather. Designer. Beautiful colors. Some were never even used.
And suddenly, I wanted them back. Even to the point of purchasing them back from her. She looked at me with confusion and awe.
I told her I needed to make a phone call to my man β who, to my surprise, was very wealthy. He said, "Whatever you wanted to do, just let him know how much was needed."
The purses are what you carry. Your identity. Your value. They were gifts from an ex β beautiful, expensive β but attached to the past. I gave them away because I didn't want the reminder. But when I saw them priced properly, I realized what I'd been carrying all along.
I wasn't worthless. I was carrying designer worth and didn't know it. And when I saw them hanging on that clothesline with real prices attached, I woke up. I wanted my value back. Even if I had to buy back what was already mine.
And then there's the man I called. He didn't hesitate. He didn't question. He just said, "Whatever you wanted to do, just let him know how much was needed."
That's the difference. The ex in the car forgot to lock the doors. The man on the phone said, "Tell me how much. It's handled."
One made me beg for safety. The other made abundance effortless. One said "Baby, I forgot." The other said "Whatever you need."
Here's what the dreams were showing me.
Old relationships feel familiar but unsecured. Beautiful gifts attached to pain. Intimacy without safety. But new energy is abundant. Unbothered. It says, "Whatever you need, just tell me the cost."
You've been carrying designer worth and giving it away like it was nothing. Yes, they were gifts from the past. But the value was always yours. You gave them away because they reminded you of him. But when you saw them properly priced, you remembered: wait. These are mine. This is who I am.
You're allowed to want your value back. And the new energy in your life doesn't hesitate. It says: do what you need to do. I've got it covered. That's not about money. That's about a love that doesn't make you beg for safety or worth.
Old intimacy without security is not worth returning to. You deserve better than "I forgot." You gave away your value because it was attached to pain. But the value was never his. It was yours. You're allowed to reclaim your beauty, your worth, your standards.
The right energy doesn't hesitate. When you know what you need, the right person says, "Tell me how much. It's handled."
You are not the burned man. You are not running from fire. You are the woman with designer worth, finally seeing it clearly.
Maybe you gave your value away because it reminded you of someone. Maybe you gave it away because you didn't think you deserved it. Maybe you gave it away because you thought you had more time.
But one day, you'll see it hanging on a clothesline with a proper price tag. And you'll realize: that was mine. That was always mine.
You're allowed to want it back. You're allowed to pay the price for your own worth. And you're allowed to call on the abundant energy that says, "Whatever you need. Just tell me how much."
Part one was about old intimacy that never secured me. Part two was about old gifts that held my worth. And in between? I woke up.
I'm not going back for the ex. I'm going back for the purses. Because they were always mine.
And the moment I realized that? The doors locked themselves.
