I Was Sent to Help Him β€” He Wouldn't Open the Door (A Dream About Keeping Your Gifts Intact)

This one is for the ones who've given everything and gotten silence back.

I dreamed I was sent on a mission.

I didn't know where I was going. I only knew I was supposed to see someone with wealth and prestige. Someone important.

When the door opened, it was an old friend. Someone I dated in high school. Someone who became a self-made millionaire in this life. Someone I used to talk to every day for years β€” until he stopped answering my calls. Stopped answering my texts. Just went silent.

I never knew why. For years, I wondered what I did wrong.

But in the dream, he opened the door and I saw the truth on his face. Softly surprised. A little shame. A little gratitude that it was me.

He looked worn. Tired. Sad.

He gave me a tour of his mansion. White brick. Shiny cobblestone around the pool. Beautiful. And absolutely empty.

No one was home. Not his wife. Not his kids. Not even the dog.

The house was dark. Depressing. Lonely.

And the pool had no water in it.

He talked to me like everything was normal. But every time I tried to go deeper, he cut me off. Looked me right in my eyes and changed the subject.

He knew what I was asking. He just didn't want to answer.

And I had the power to help him. I came with gifts. I came with wisdom. I came ready.

But I didn't force it.

I wanted to help him so badly. But I kept quiet. And when I left, the gifts I came with were still intact. Unused. Whole.

The energy who sent me smiled when I got back. And said:

"Go tend to yourself."

What That Dream Taught Me

I had been carrying that question for years. "Why did he treat me that way? What did I do wrong?"

The dream answered it without a single word from him.

He didn't stop talking to me because of something I did. He stopped because I got too close to the truth.

People who've built their lives on avoidance can't survive being seen. And I see people. I ask real questions. I bring real presence. That's not a flaw. That's a gift.

But it's a gift that only works on people who are willing to receive it.

He wasn't. So I kept the gift and left.

For the Ones Who've Been Treated Badly After Bringing Good

You brought good to the table. You gave grace. You forgave. You showed up. And you got silence, distance, broken promises, and no grace in return.

Hear me.

That was never about you. It was about their inability to hold what you carry.

You are not too much. You are too true for people who've made peace with lies.

And here's what I'm learning:

You don't owe your gifts to people who refuse to open the door.

You don't have to force help on someone who won't receive it. You don't have to keep asking why. You don't have to keep pouring into someone who keeps looking away.

You can keep your gifts intact. You can walk out whole. You can let the One who sent you say:

"Go tend to yourself."

The Tend to Yourself Part

I held my pee in that dream for so long that my stomach hurt when I woke up.

I held it because I wanted answers. I wanted closure. I wanted him to finally tell me why.

But the answer was never inside him. It was inside me β€” in the walking away.

So I let go. I went to the bathroom. I released what I'd been holding.

That's the whole assignment.

Stop holding what your body is screaming to release.

Stop holding questions for people who will never answer them. Stop carrying love for people who never carried it back. Stop pouring into cups that are turned upside down.

Go tend to yourself.

That's not selfish. That's the assignment.

Closing

He had a mansion. He had a pool with no water. He had everything except the ability to look at himself.

And I had the power to help him β€” and kept it, because he wouldn't open the door.

I used to think that was my failure. Now I know it was my protection.

So here's what I'm doing now:

I'm tending to myself.

I'm keeping my gifts intact.

I'm not chasing closure from people who won't give it.

And I'm not wondering anymore why they treated me the way they did. I already know.

They loved the idea of me because the idea was powerful. But the real me asked them to look at themselves. And that's the one thing they couldn't do.

So they left.

And I rose.
