Teacher and parent resources are available on The Young Scholar’s Book Club website. Teachers and parents can now purchase teaching materials to educate young scholars. Downloadable worksheets, games, video instruction and more are available to help aid student learning. All resources are teacher made and produced for Pre Kindergarten to 4th grade. New teaching resources are always being added to The Young Scholar’s Book Club website. Proceeds from products sold help to maintain and advance The Young Scholar’s Book Club program for Pre Kindergarten to 4th grade.
The program runs from August to May. During June and July, The Young Scholar’s Book Club offers workshops, seminars and other activities for its members. The Young Scholar’s Book Club reinforces grade level skills taught in schools, increases vocabulary, enforces reading, tutoring in all core subjects and provides encouragement and support for “The Young Scholar” throughout the educational process.
Teachers and parents can also purchase teaching materials to teach kids life lessons and social skills. The book “Life Lessons Kids Should Learn Quickly” was written by Brenda Diann Johnson who is also an educator and the founder of The Young Scholar’s Book Club. While teaching in the public school system, Ms. Johnson recognized the need for additional training. Ms. Johnson often included what she labeled “teachable moments” in her classroom. She would often take a few minutes to teach, enlighten or train on specific issues that came up with her students throughout the day.
A child’s initial training ground to shape behavior starts at home. Parents are responsible for teaching their children manners, etiquette, social skills, rules and principles to interact with people and navigate through life successfully. Unfortunately, all kids don’t get the same basic teachings because of various circumstances that exist in the home. No matter what misfortune kids face, respect of others, appropriate behavior in formal and informal settings and basic rules and principles are essential.
The Young Scholar’s Book Club is an educational organization that provides free tutoring activities and mentoring services to students. TYS Book Club provides its services via the internet, regular mail and summer workshops. Please help us to continue this program by supporting The Young Scholar’s Book Club when you purchase “The Young Scholar’s Workbook: BI Vol. I.” The workbook is a fundraiser item for TYS Book Club. 50% of all proceeds will go to The Young Scholar’s Book Club.
