"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding." - Proverbs 9:10

Righteousness: Wisdom is pure and aligns with God’s standards. James 3:17 describes wisdom from above as "first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and hypocrisy."

Discernment: It involves discerning between good and evil, truth and falsehood. Solomon’s request for an understanding heart to distinguish between good and bad demonstrates the value of discernment (1 Kings 3:9).

Compassion: Wisdom is not just a concept, but a way of life. It’s about living out Jesus's teachings in practical ways, showing love, kindness, and compassion toward others. Let these words inspire you to embody wisdom in your actions.

 

 Acquiring Wisdom

Prayer: James 1:5 encourages us to ask God for wisdom, promising that He gives generously to all without finding fault.

Studying Scripture: The Word of God, a treasure trove of wisdom, is crucial in our journey. Psalm 119:130 states, "The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple."

Seeking Godly Counsel: Surrounding ourselves with wise, godly people can help us grow in understanding. Proverbs 13:20 reminds us, "He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed."

Observation and Reflection: Observing the world and reflecting on our experiences through the lens of scripture can lead to deeper insights.
