First, could you ensure that your Ubuntu for Raspberry Pi meets this driver?
The wifi driver of RTL8188 is sensitive to the kernel version & build number and CPU architecture. This driver is just for the following versions of Ubuntu for Raspberry Pi:
- Ubuntu Desktop 23.04 (64-bit) 2023-04-20 release
- Ubuntu Server 23.04 (32-bit) 2023-04-20 release
- Ubuntu Server 23.04 (64-bit) 2023-04-20 release
How to install the driver
Downloading the file, extract it, and go into folder 6.2.0#1000, you can see the following 2 folders:
- 32bit
- 64bit
Select a folder according to the OS type (64bit or 32bit) and cd into there, then run install.sh.
After finishing, reboot it to be recognized the driver.
