Yeocomico Episcopal Church is the only surviving colonial church in Westmoreland County, VA.
Dating back to 1705, the current Yeocomico is also the oldest church in the Northern Neck, a name that refers to the most northern of Virginia's three peninsulas.
With its mixture of design influences and many long-running mysteries, this is "an illustration of early 18th-century transitional architecture," says Virginia Dept. of Historical Resources.
Of note--this historical church continues to hold weekly Sunday services.
