Mikhail Paramonov is a photographic artist based in St. Petersburg, Russia. For more than twenty years, his work has explored the human figure, individuality, and the relationship between people and the spaces around them.

Working primarily with natural light and minimal staging, Paramonov creates photographs in which atmosphere, spontaneity and observation are central. Alongside his long-term fine-art work with the human figure, his recent practice has expanded toward observational photography of people, cities, architecture and everyday environments.

His photographs have been published internationally in more than twenty books and publications. He has maintained long-term collaborations with European publishers, including Edition Reuss and Goliath, as well as international photography platforms.

In 2013, four of his works were exhibited at the State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg as part of the exhibition “Beauty Without Glamour?”. His work was also included in the official exhibition catalogue published by Palace Editions.

In 2026, a month-long journey through Japan opened a new direction in his work, resulting in the photobook “Between Lives” and an ongoing photographic exploration of Japan.
